It's all good until he whines...

The dog that is....

This week I packed it up and vacated the frigid north for a little milder and lot less flat Kentucky accompanied by my canine companion, Dippy.

The poor man has never been off the farm and was not shy to let me know just how much he despised me for doing so! You would figure he would be a barker, right? Not this one, having Dippy here is like having a small infant around. When he gets nervous, upset, excited, or pissed off he goes to whining, ear piercing whining! I feel awful for changing his much adjusted habitat, but I am so glad he is here.

While training for the marathon in May and the long walks I so enjoy taking through Devou Park, a dog only makes it so much more fun, not to mention "less wierd." You ever seen those people just out randomly walking by themselves and wonder if they are crazy or strange ... yeah, a dog just makes it acceptable.

So this week, as my dog goes through hell learning to deal with me and I learn to deal with my ears wincing and my neighbors hating me for this pure injustice, I guess together Dippy and I will learn to deal ... or else I will be planning my trip home a lot sooner than expected to bring the whiney child home.
