My room has this squeaky door. It has a squeak for each different action a door must take. Ok...so a door really doesn't have many actions, but for each turn on a hinge there is a different whisical noice it sings to us.
Now this isn't just a door...It happens to be our bathroom door. So every day as one visits the procelain god ( I thinking of it in a manly way...), I can tell just how far they opened the door, if they shut the door, and I know just how long they were in that sacred room! This works significantly well when the opposite sex is visiting.
Who would have ever thought that a door could be such a good little tattle-tale, and so reliable!
Today, this door still squeaks. The roommate and I have now deemed that the squeak from our door is no longer an annoyance, but a useful tool for our everyday lives.
RUN AWAY WD-40!
We love our squeaky door!

Does Lack of Sex equal depression.....
So the other day a male friend of mine said the wierdest thing ... "If I got a little (sex) then I wouldn't be so depressed...." This statement, while maybe true in his mind got me to thinkin' alot. What is it in the male mind that relates sex to all their problems. I mean this young man could be getting sex everyday in floods, but he would still probably blame this action for the state of feeling depressed.
So then I got thinking some more.... are women this shallow. I mean come on.... If I related sex to all my problems I would never have any friends! Neither me, nor any of the friends of the same sex want to hear me, or any other girl complain about why they need to "be gettin' some..." I guess to us, it is just not that important. We love the heat, sweat, and calories burned....trust me on this one....but it rarely controls our daily abilty to interact and function.
My thoughts..... yes, we all need some one-on-one hard core action once in a while. (Some prefer 3 and 4...) But if you think about it realistically it is not the builing block of your life, you won't typically make money doing it, and will not always bring you closer to marriage or companionship.
Therefore....take sex off of that pedestal boys....it won't get you closer to the ultimate relationship...I PROMISE!

A Smile for Thought...
So I have been reading blogs here for the past few weeks and decided that everyone needs to have one. When somthing just tickles your nose funny and you want to tell the world all about it, you definitely should! It's even better that a psychiatrist... no closed doors, no big bill for an hour of ranting, and you never know who may gain insight from your nose tickle.
My pondering for today....
Every moring I sit here in the morning at this large custom wood desk to greet college students as they set out for morning classes. (In reality they call me security... I personally prefer "Morning Dose of Sunshine"). I only catch a small handful people that actually smile (or look awake for that matter). It got me to thinking today... What triggers a morning person versus a night owl?
I personally can do just about either. As I get older I enjoy my sleep more and more, but a good night has never stopped me. Even if I am the one out late, I am still up bright and early to greet with a smile to all of those non-smilers. On another note -- I also don't do coffee. So that is not an excuse!
Do our parents play a role in our smile meter? Is the reason I smile all the time due to the fact that I was up early as a child and active? I see so many today who rise to the noon sun, not the morning one. Seems like such a waste of a day really.
Oh well, today is a day for pondering and I pondered enough. My conclusion... I smile because I can find a reason everyday to do so. It doesn't mean that I had the best childhood, teenage years, or college years, it just means that I am optimistic and cheery. In my optimism I know that my smile can bring someone else to a smile today.
